Frances Halsband, KHA co-founder, and Eli Meltzer, an architect with the firm, are co-authors of “Reverence and Reconstruction,” an article in the current issue of Faith & Form (Vol. 50, No. 2, 2017) about the architectural form that has developed to serve the growing Jewish movement of Chabad-Lubavitch.
The article examines how the organization’s world headquarters, a small building at 770 Eastern Parkway in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, has become the design inspiration for other Chabad houses around the world.
Photographs by Andrea Robbins and Max Becher, who have documented replicas of 770 around the world, accompany the article.
Faith & Form: The Interfaith Journal on Religion, Art and Architecture is published quarterly and provides in-depth articles on all aspects of planning, building, and furnishing religious structures.
