Pratt Institute Selects KHA to Rethink Space for their School of Design

Pratt Institute has selected KHA to develop a master plan that will guide interior renovation projects for the 189,000 square foot Juliana Terian Curran Design Center, a group of historic loft buildings on their Brooklyn campus. Our work includes restacking and reprogramming the Design Center to accommodate the graduate Communication Design program on the Brooklyn campus, expanding studio space for the undergraduate Communication Design program, and consolidating various shops and labs for the School of Design.

Founded in 1887, Pratt offers undergraduate and graduate programs in art, design, architecture, information and library science, and liberal arts and sciences taught by an esteemed faculty of accomplished professionals and scholars. Their 25-acre main campus is located in the historic Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn, with a second campus in a Romanesque Revival building in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, and an extension campus in Utica, NY.
